8. Two Forces Control ALL Markets: Context and Momentum

8.1 Context

Context refers to all of the bars to the left.

  • Lower lows show in the chart.

  • Sell limit order to short at high.

  • Buy at the bottom, when it reverses up.

  • Trader are looking to sell at resistance, buy at support. But Investors buy at "cheap", sell at "expensive".

8.2 Momentum

Momentum refers to the strength of the trend.

When momentum is strong, traders are expecting the trend will continue.

Traders will trade following the direction of the momentum.

When momentum is strong

  • Sell at the break out, or sell at the pullback.

  • Buy at the break out, or buy at the pullback.

When momentum is weak

Bulls are starting to make money in the Bearish Trend.

They buy every reversal up, in the bear trend.

  • Buy reversal up in weak signal bars.
